Dartmoor Wild Camping
We have two main campsites available for wild camping on Dartmoor.
Riverside Campsite
- Natural camping site.
- Spans the Cowsic river with an ancient clapper bridge.
- Peaceful and tranquil.
- Sheltered from most winds.
- Communal fire pits.
- Nearby parking.
- Boggy in places, insect repellant is highly advisable during warmer months and the river can become a raging torrent during high rainfall – please be very aware of this if you have children.
- Can be booked for exclusive use.

Leat Campsite
- Situated in a field alongside the Devonport Leat.
- Well sheltered from the prevailing westerly wind.
- Spectacular views across the surrounding moorland.
- Within 100 metres of vehicle access.
- Suitable for larger groups such as Schools or Duke Of Edinburgh.
- Can be booked for exclusive use.
Facilities
- Water is available from a tap just outside the farmyard.
- Firewood is available to buy.
- A composting toilet is available to hire – please enquire when booking.
- No other facilities are available.
Exclusive Use for Groups
Both our campsites are available for exclusive use by groups. Prior booking is essential – please contact us for more details.

Prices
Please note that in addition to the prices below we charge a small booking fee to cover credit/debit card processing charges. The fee will be shown in the checkout.
Dogs are free but must be well behaved, particularly around livestock.

September–June: £5 per person per night.
July & August: £10 per adult, £5 per under-14 per night.
Exclusive use of site: £100 per night (online booking not available – please contact us instead).
Leat Campsite
September–June: £5 per person per night.
July & August: £5 per adult, £2.50 per under-14 per night.
Exclusive use of site: £100 per night (online booking not available – please contact us instead).
Camper van pitches: £10 per van per night.
