Wild Camping in the Heart of Dartmoor

Beardown Farm is a working hill farm on the high moor of Dartmoor. We keep beef cattle and sheep on 1,100 acres of moorland bordered by the Cowsic and West Dart rivers.

We offer a true wild camping experience, the only facilities being an outside tap and fire pits. There are no showers, electricity nor WiFi. A composting toilet is available to hire.

There are two main campsites – one riverside in a sheltered valley spanning the Cowsic river, and the other a more level area next to the Devonport Leat.

The Riverside campsite is available for exclusive use by groups. Prior booking is essential.

We also have a camping pod for those who prefer a less wild camping experience, and an area for camper vans to stay overnight.
